Laundry. Where soda crystals shine
Soda crystals are the secret weapon every British grandmother kept under the sink. They soften hard water (most of the south and east of England), boost any detergent, strip grease from work clothes and clear the smell from a forgotten wet load.
- Add 1 tbsp soda crystals to every detergent dose in hard water areas
- Soak greasy work overalls in hot water + ½ cup soda crystals before washing
- Run a monthly empty-hot-wash with 1 cup citric acid to descale the machine
- Replace fabric softener with ½ cup white vinegar in the rinse drawer
